What's in your oven?

It's time to get serious people.

I've made my list of Christmas cookies that I want someone to bake for me uh, I mean I want to shove in my mouth ok, fine, I want to bake.

I've pulled out the recipes.  I've purchased the ingredients.

The only thing that's missing. . . . .

motivation

I love to bake - but I am overwhelmed.  I have 7 different cookies that I want to make this year. Five of which I am used to making and 2 that are new but sound wonderful.  In the past I have usually only made one or two and at different times, but I feel like I am ready to take on the task of multiple migraines cookie varieties.

Can someone smack some sense into me please?

Here is the list of what sounded good at the time:
  •  wedding cake cookies
  • buckeyes
  • chocolate dipped Ritz
  • peanut butter blossoms
  • thumbprint cookies
  • choco-marshmallow cookies
  • the traditional Grandma's frosted sugar cookies
I know Santa is counting on me and I really hope I don't disappoint him and myself.

(Note to self: purchase some Chips Ahoy as a backup plan.)

What cookies are you baking this holiday season?

I'm going to be sore tomorrow

I can just feel it. Not only because yesterday I rode my bike around the neighborhood with the boys, and today I ran 5 miles outside on a route with a ton of hills. Plus I spent a lot of time outside doing yard work with hubby. It was such a beautiful spring day that I had to take full advantage of it.

We patched bleached out dead grass spots - thanks a bunch for that extra chore Sasha dog. We mulched around some trees, mowed, trimmed, and I pulled countless weeds, primarily dandelion weeds. Even though we fertilized two weeks ago our yard is still full of them. I was bent over yanking those puppies out with my sticker-bush-puller-outer tool for over an hour and there are still many many more that need to get removed. So much for the useless bag of fertilizer.

For all the hard work today, I have rewarded myself with a fresh home-made batch of warm, gooey, soft chocolate chip cookies. It's okay, I'm drooling too.

So much for the exercise.

I Love Cookies

If you are anything like me, you love Girl Scout cookies.

And again, if you are anything like me, your supply of Girl Scout cookies is completely gone.

Don't panic. I have found the BEST and CHEAPEST solution to your cookie cravings.

Keebler brand has a line of cookies called Fudge Shoppe and there are replicas of the Thin Mints (Grasshopper) and Peanut Butter Patties (Peanut Butter Filled). And they are (I hate to admit it) better than GS cookies. Yes, it is true. Try them yourself and I think you will be hooked. They are amazing!

The local grocery store I bought mine at today had them on sale for buy one at $2.99 get one free.

Imagine that - free cookies! Rock on!
