Can't get enough

Last year I made a compilation CD which included some of my favorite 80's songs.  I thoroughly enjoyed living in the 80's and if there was ever any time I would want to go back and live in it would be that era.  I have such great memories of my childhood and these songs just make me feel good.

Last night while I was "alone" making dinner (hubby was at work, kids were downstairs playing) I popped in my CD and cranked it up and just had this awesome sensation overcome me.  I felt so alive and happy.  I was dancing around and singing to my heart's content.  That was until my oldest son came in and gave me a look of "your so uncool and embarrassing Mother".  That look alone made me feel old, but it didn't put a damper on my mood.  I was jamming out and reliving my youth.  And it felt great.

I have posted the majority of my favorites on the music player below so you too can enjoy the 80's experience.

Do tell, what is one of your all-time favorite 80's songs.  I would love to know.

Rock On!

I saw a post similar to this on another blog and thought it was a great idea.  I have listed all the live concert events I have been to in my life as much as I could remember.  Some of them I am ashamed to admit, others just plain rocked.  It's funny how much my music choice has changed over the years.  I'll list them in chronological order:

Alanis Morissette (1995, and 6 other dates if not more)

Nine Inch Nails (1995)

David Bowe (1995)

Filter (1995)

Everclear (1995)

Silverchair (1995)

Q-101's Twisted Christmas 2 (1995)

  • Alanis Morissette, Weezer, Porno for Pyros, White Zombie, Oasis, Silverchair, Tripping Daisies

Jars of Clay (1998)

Kings X (1998)

Tori Amos (1999)

B-96 Summer Bash (2000)

  • I think Usher was there, but I don't remember any others.

Smashmouth (2000)

Matchbox Twenty (2000)

Edwin McCain (2000 and 8 other dates if not more)

Tonic (2002)

The Rock Boat (2002 and 2004)

  • Pat McGee, Sister Hazel, Will Hoge, Cowboy Mouth, and so many more.

Mary J. Blige (2006 - Oprah Show taping)

John Mayer (2007 - Oprah Show taping & Crossroads Fest.)

Crossroads Festival (2007)

  • Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Steve Winwood, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, The Derek Trucks Band, Los Lobos, and many others.

Concerts I would love to attend (just to name a few):

  • Beastie Boys
  • Lenny Kravitz
  • Michael Buble
  • Justin Timberlake
  • Pink
What about you?  Do share.  What was one of the most memorable concerts you've been to?

Whoa! What's that noise?!?!?

If you recently logged on to my blog you may have been welcomed by a song.

Don't be frightened. I am testing out this new "Project Playlist" for my blog.

Recently I submitted a few of my favorite songs to a local radio station and in return I received a gift certificate to one of my new favorite food chains - Chipotle. (I still don't know how to spell the freakin' name and spell check is no help!)

I have always wanted to create a CD of some of my favorite songs. But better yet, why not add it to my blog and share with you all some of the music that gets me movin' and groovin'!

I didn't want to scare you away. I hope you'll stay and listen. You never know - maybe you'll hear something new that you like. And if you don't care to listen you can always pause the music or mute it, but I hope you'll give it a chance.

Let me know what you think. I love feedback (and dark chocolate) ((and wine)) (((and comments)))!!!
