Proof in pictures

Here is undeniable proof that we live in a house with boys.

Frozen pounds of ground beef are used to cool off with.

Little boys get into Mommy's nail polish.

Laundry piles never seem to go away.

Hangers get used for abstract art projects.

Poor army men get eaten by sharks at bath time.

Crazy dress up play and battles exist.

True love.

Grocery bags turn into roller coaster rides.

Jumping in leaves has even more meaning when done on a trampoline.

Black eyes are a common battle wound especially when you're trying to keep up with the big 'dogs.'

Spills are quite evident.

A broken arm that can't keep a 6 year old down.

More battle wounds on the cutest face ever.

Napkins become facial decorations.

More true love - they know how to get in the holiday spirit.

Time outs.

Facial contortions.

Pre-teens.

No need for blocks - a paper cup tower is way cooler.

Fun with painters tape.

No need for a play set when you have bare feet and a good door frame.

Really getting into dental hygiene.

Something good must be in the microwave.

And I wouldn't change it for the world!

Family Photo Shoot

I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to not only get our family pictures taken this past weekend, but have them done in such professional, high quality.  Check out how awesome these shots are.

If you are in the NW Indiana area (or feel like traveling for some wonderful photo memories) you HAVE to check out beth fletcher photography.  She is having an amazing spring sale right now that you don't want to miss.  I can't say enough about how great of an experience this was for our family.  She made it feel like we were on an adventure, not a photo shoot.  The kids cooperated exceptionally well and I know it all had to do with her ability to make it fun for them.

I highly recommend using Beth's amazing photography skills for your family's next portrait.  The experience was unforgettable as are the lasting pictures.  She captured our life picture perfect!

Progress

I literally spent 2 solid hours sorting through 2 boxes of pictures and putting them in photo albums today.  My guess is that there were between 750 - 1000 pictures.

And you may be wondering why on earth they were in boxes to begin with.

Because way back when I was in a mommy's group we had a scrapbook get together (probably 3 1 /2 years ago).   Now I had never before done any type of scrapbooking and didn't know much about it, but I really liked the end product.  After that party I came home and emptied 5 years worth of photo albums and made sure they were sorted by month and year.  Now that was a lot of work and I had a huge project on my hands.

Looking back I probably shouldn't have started with that amount of pictures.  I was completely overwhelmed.

Guess how many scrapbook pages I have done since that fateful scrapbook party?

None.  Well, one if you include the one I made during the party.

(Here's the top and bottom half that I attempted to scan in.)

I priced the supplies and just couldn't bring myself to make that sort of financial and time commitment.

After this recent Christmas I bought some really nice photo albums from none other than Marshalls.  And today I decided to tackle the photo boxes once and for all.

Some are not exactly in sequential order like a family picture of the three boys, then one of me completely pregnant, but for the most part they flow.

And that is good enough for me.

Wordless Wednesday - Wine Glass

Do you suppose one night the creators of photo booth were sitting around drinking wine and came up with the warped picture idea because of this?

For more Wordless Wednesday participants click here.

Happy April Fools Day!  Are you playing any tricks today?
Come back later on to find out what tricks were played on my family today.

School pictures

Every year I send out the kids school pictures with our Christmas cards.  This year was no different with the exception of one of the boys.  Luke.  His pre-school waits until February to take school pictures.  Why?  I don't know.  So, I had to send out the cards without Luke's sweet face in them.  I did, however, include a little piece of paper explaining why there were only two of the three boys pictures included.

So now it's February.  I had taken Luke to get his hair trimmed a week or so before picture day.  He was all cute and ready to be photographed.  And then the morning of picture day, he wakes up with a fever and can't go to school.

No problem.  I figured we'd just have it done on retake day, but when I called the school to let them know, I was informed that today is the only day to get pictures taken.  There are no retakes.

Seriously?

Yep.

So now I am stuck with having to get them done on my own.  I wonder if any of these would work?

I guess I'll start looking around for some good deals.  Any suggestions?

Breaking up is hard to do

Have you played along and submitted your guesses yet for my Mad Gab blog version game yet?  There's still time.  I will be posting the answers tomorrow.  So click on over and start talking to yourself in a strange language and see if you can guess the phrases.

Today I am very nervous.

I've been seeing the same person for the last 6 years and today I am seeing someone new, but I haven't told the other person of the breakup.  I need someone who is accessible and at my disposal.  Someone that I can call, tell them what I need and get satisfaction.

I am breaking up with my hair stylist.  Gasp!  And it's not something I want to do because I really like her, we get along great and she knows just how to cut my hair.  But there's one slight problem.  She's 250 miles away.

Today I decided it's time to find a new hair salon that is only 2 miles away.  But I am scared for my hair.  And it's not that I am going to do anything drastic, but I have always been confident with my lady and would let her pretty much do whatever to my hair.  And now I am starting all over.  Pray for me and my hair would ya?

So here are the before shots with my natural wave hair.  And if the 'after' hair is any good I will be back with an update and pictures.  If not, you can assume the worst.

6 bundles of fur

Did you think I was kidding when I told you about this?

I almost wish I was, but no, it is true.  Our home has been increased by 6.  When researching dwarf hamster breeding I found that a litter size can range from 1 to 10.  Since we didn't even know the momma was pregnant I figured she would have one, maybe two babies, but she sure surprised us with 6!

It's been over 10 days now and they are starting to crawl around and look like little mini dwarf hamsters.  Sounds a bit ironic, mini-dwarfs.  They also make these cute little squeak noises.

I have already told Taylor that we cannot keep 8 hamsters - that is just insane.  I may let him keep one, but the others have got to find good homes in about 3 weeks.

Do I have any takers?  Just take a look at how darling they are.  I know you can't resist!

(Seriously, email me if you're interested)
