I was born a Hoosier. What that means, I really don't know except that it is what Indiana residents are called.
But it looks like my days as a Hoosier are coming to an end. The state of Ohio, the Buckeye state, is going to be our new place to call home.
We are putting our house on the market and today we had our realtor come over to take pictures. Therefore, I have been super busy trying to de-clutter and deep clean our house. And that's not an easy chore having 3 messy boys following me around.
I explained to the boys that I had to get the house really clean because someone was coming over to take pictures. As I was cleaning the kitchen this afternoon and scrubbing the sink, Carson comes up to me and asks if they are going to take pictures of the sink. As hard as I cleaned it, I wish they would have.
This move seems to be coming at us at full speed and it makes me nervous and excited at the same time. I have never left the comfort of my hometown. It's where my parents reside. It's my security and where I have thus far raised my children. I always had dreams of my boys attending the same middle and high school that I went to. But, it looks like that dream is taking a detour.
In a way, I know this will be an adventure and a time for me and my family to grow. It will be a fresh start in a new town. We will not know a single person. No one will see me out in the town and call me by my name. Nothing will be familiar. That in itself scares me. But, it's time to take a step outside of my comfort zone. It's time to experience a new chapter in my life. It's time to leave the place I have called home for the past 30 years. They say change is inevitable. I must learn to embrace it and look at it in a positive light. I must take a step of faith and know that this is the right move to make and not look back in regret. It's time to change and ready or not, here I come.
Now I just need to figure out what the heck a buckeye is.
