Laziness

Is it considered lazy when.....

I have a cold hot dog bun and I want to heat it up for 10 seconds, but push 9 seconds instead in order to save myself from pushing one extra button?

Is it considered lazy when.....

I laid in bed from 11pm Saturday night to 6am Monday morning and only got up 4 times to use the bathroom?

No joke. 32 hours.

Saturday night Jason and I went out on a date for the first time in who knows how long. We decided to try out a Brazilian steak house and I guess I had no idea what I was in for.

First of all I am not a big red meat fan. I like a fillet every few months and at home we usually only have ground beef. So going to a smörgåsbord of meat should have given me the first red flag.

They brought out all different styles of meat for us to try and gave us a card with a green go sign on one side and a red stop sign on the other so that we could determine the pace that we wanted to stuff our faces. Some of the 15 different types of meat that we ate included chicken wrapped in bacon, fillet wrapped in bacon - and by the way, anything wrapped in bacon will win my heart over. And of course while I stepped out to use the potty they came around with turkey wrapped in bacon. Other selections included, leg of lamb, pork sausage, sirloin, pork ribs, and I'm sure there was more, but we turned over our STOP-the-insanity meat fest card because we've had enough.

I also enjoyed a vintage glass of red wine that cost $15 a glass. Had I known it was vintage or that it was pricey I would have gone with the $6 glass, but as dumb as I was I asked the server for a recommendation. I should have known better - sucker!

So the whole combination of rich meaty food and a expensive wine that I am not used to lead to a severe stomach ache. I went to bed feeling stuffed to capacity, the beginning of a very long and painful headache, and already suffering from the onset of a cold. I still wonder if I had a touch of food poisoning or maybe the beef had "mad cow" disease.

Hence the 32 hours of laying in bed.

I wish I could say it was delightful, but honestly it was brutal. I felt like I was hallucinating. It was like I was in a half awake and half asleep mode and dreaming, but it didn't feel like I was asleep. It was not very restful whatsoever.

I never thought I could spend that much time in bed. When I finally woke up I asked my husband how it felt being a single dad for a day? Poor guy! But he managed through it and even made dinner.

"Rest" assured, I am back to my normal self and even went to the gym tonight and took my favorite dance class. It felt great to sweat it out.

I can't let laziness keep me down.

  1. gross.

I went to one of those in New Jersey when I was pregnant with Ariel and all I can say is "gross." My cousin -in- law always says he gets "beef poisoning" when he goes. But he loves to go.

I'm sorry you felt crappy for so long, but hooray that you were able to rest!

  2. I saw your comment at Beth's blog and rushed right over here to see how I could get 32 hours of rest. It sounds like a day I would enjoy, minus of course, the beef onset hallucinations!

    Congratulations on your 100th post!

  3. I'm a beef junky. I'll be popping zocor(cholesterol) pills like mints in a few years for it too.

I loved, loved, loved the steak house when we went. But, I'm sick like that.

Yeah, I had a stomach ache for days but when you wrap a piece of beef in bacon on a skewer, oh my, my mouth is drooling just at the thought.
