Look what the boy dragged in.

Does this come with ear plugs because I have a feeling I am going to need them.

I am all for being a part of a school music program. Last year was choir, this year band. The trumpet was his pick and I am not too sure why, but I think it's going to be a good fit for him. He's got a lot of hot air - in a good way.

In middle school and my freshman year of high school I played the french horn - not very well, but I attempted to make it work out. It was a time full of great memories and friendships along with the two trips to band camp. Yes, seriously I went to band camp. Don't judge.

My desire is that he embraces this new chapter in his life and enjoys his new hobby and talent. He may not be the next Louis Armstrong, but I hope he is inspired and obtains a good musical background.

Now I must go shut all the windows before the neighbors call the police.

  3. Good Luck!! Several kids in our neighborhood took up the trumpet and Saturday mornings sounded like a crowd of dying elephants around here, even if their windows were closed. Most of them have given it up now, thankfully. We somehow managed to convince my son that his guitar was enough of a committment right now and he did not, in fact, need a violin. ;)

  4. How exciting! That second pic is classic! I love it.

I played the clarinet for a while until my band instructor sucked on my reed and then made me use it. Can we say "Gross!!!"? Needless to say, I was traumatized and never played again =(
