The semi-annual date

I mentioned my parents came to visit us this past weekend.  We had grand plans to sit around the house and enjoy each others company.  Well, Saturday afternoon my parents throw us the idea that Jason and I should go out on a date and let them stay home and play with the kids.  How sweet is that?

So we took them up on the offer because I ain't no dummy! It would just be the two of us out to dinner minus 3 boys hanging out with us.  I felt like a real adult.  The last time we had the babysitters opportunity to do this was back in August when we went back to Indiana to see comedian Jim Gaffigan.  That was also the first time I had and fell in love with Chipotle.

On our date we went to a sports bar restaurant and the food was just ok - nothing fantastic.  I did get very excited to see they had one of my favorite wines that I don't normally buy, Ménage à Trois. Do you know it's kind of intimidating to order that?  Just because of the name.  If you are twisted and kinky know French then you know what it means, if not go ahead, google it.

Enough said.

After dinner we picked up another couple and went to see a local band play.  It was great getting out and socializing with other people our age.  I just hope next time it doesn't take us 6 months to do it.

  1. Oh God, I envy you!! The last time we went on a date was September 29, 2008.

I keep telling myself I'm gonna pick a day and schedule a sitter, but I never do...why is that? I miss my husband!

  4. Good for you!!
We get almost an annual date, too. My parents visit us from SC usually in the spring/early summer. We're looking forward to it! We may try out a new comedy club this year. Well, it's new to us.
