Luke has pretty much stop taking naps altogether since before the holidays. And that really stinks because he's 3 (almost 4) and he could really benefit from them. Who am I kidding? I could really benefit from him taking a nap. It's really a win-win situation. Little grumpy boy gets much needed rest and cranky mommy gets much needed sit-in-front-of-the-TV-and-veg-out time.
So I suggested that Luke and I take a nap together in mommy's bed. He was actually all for the idea which made me happy. We got cozy under the blankets and I could feel myself drifting off, but at the same time I could feel his breath in my face. I open my eyes to see Luke staring at me inches away from my face. I reposition him to get the much needed distance and start to drift again. This time I am startled with a sweet little kiss on my forehead. Finally we both seem to get comfortable and I feel sleep overcome my body. My nap was then interrupted five minutes later when my oldest came home from school and started yelling for me.
My naportunity failed.
Oh that's the worst feeling! My oldest stopped napping around the same time. It was so sad! lol
ReplyDeleteWe started having him take "quiet times". It took a while for him to get it, but thanks to books on CD from the library, he will usually stay in his room for 35-45 minutes w/o calling for me. And on the rare day, he will fall asleep! :)
It was such a dreary day here yesterday. I am so ready for spring!
I was looking out the window yesterday while sitting in my cubicle and thinking that it was a perfect day for a nap!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it didn't work out for you!
ha- this is exactly what happened to me just moments ago! UGH!
